For the last 2 days I have been using andriod on my HD2 :D

So far I am impressed with it. It has taken me a while to get used to the interface. However now I have managed to set my notifications up and a few other settings I am happy.

Google Navigation rocks , just need to go somewhere a bit further than work to try it out properly.

It is still running off the SD card so I do notice it running slow sometimes. Each time I reboot It does boot winmo then I have to delete 3 folders before starting android.

The only other thing is battery use is bit heavy and need a charger handy to keep her topped up.

Otherwise as this is still early days it is stable and most stuff works. Top marks top the guys working on it.

Hit the android threads on xda-devs for more details.

Go on Martin you know you want to try.

Dear fellow members.
I sit here in the dark, weeping, cold and alone, and.. well you get the picture!
My beloved HTC Touch HD has malfunctioned!
Last week, for no reason during a call, it just switched off and re-booted.
Ha thought I, silly windows! an hour later the same.
I did a hard reset, it did it again.
I flashed the ROM, reloaded the software, it did it again!
I flashed once more, added no software and it kept doing it.
I rang HTC (whom I registered the device with Feb 09) gave them the IMEI number, they bought up my details and as it has a TWO year warranty calmly emailed me a couple of documents to print including a label and sent a nice UPS man knocked on my door 18 hours later to take it away. It went this morning with a promise to fix and return in 8 working days, they've even given me a tracking ID to see how the repair is going.
This, I hope, is the start of a tale of very good customer service from HTC, I'll keep you updated on progress with hopefully a happy ending in the next few days.... :)

I have my fantastic HTC Touch HD, its got the stock HTC ROM.
I have downloaded a new 6.5 Rom from htcpedia.com (thanks M!) but can I flash it? nope, something about bypassing a USPL to get it to work, Ive found countless references to this and downloaded bits of software that just start the flash and it sits at 0%, have ripped it out and all is as was. When Andrew released the awesome GWE2.1 all was present, click this then click that - simple. Can I find the equivalent for HD nope. How the hell can I unlock or start the flash? Have scoured xda-dev and other sites but nothing which says you need this to unlock the device to allow a new ROM. HTC wont release a 6.5ROM forit as they believe it is too old so I resort to a cooked ROM but can't start it. RUBBISH!!!!

Hey Guys,

I in the market for a new screen protector. I've managed to make several gouges on the protector and need to replace. I also noticed that there are diamond like ware marks on the screen protector.

Anyhoo - I bought the "Cut to Size" from T-mobile over the weekend. Long story short I've now got the original on looking less than fine... Hence the market I'm in.

My problem is that I don't have a clue where to start! I've always used the original ones and never really had a problem with them. I'm thinking that I might like the non reflective surface, but I'm cheap as well.... Any thoughts?

Can anyone help me identify why this has happened? (Bottom left had corner) instead of the Video / Voice Call option I have text over the button. When pressed it it open the call history - which incidentally, has lost all of the names where the contact is stored in the contacts.

Not a big problem, I even thought about hashing (and that would be in my case) an image for the call history... but the text would still overlay.

Any thoughts

There is not much difference between the HTC Touch Diamond 2 and the HTC Touch HD (and what is there is mainly towards the HD) but there is one desirable feature the HD certainly lacks – the Zoom bar.

It seems XDA-Developer.com hacker namuk was not going to leave that deficit lie however. He has created some software which turns the 4 keys (phone call start, end, home and back) into a Zoom bar, and has it functioning in in Opera Mobile, the photo application, camera application and Pocket Office. The normal function of the keys can be accessed by a long press on the button.

The software has not been released yet, but the first beta should be available on the 21/5/09. With many Touch HD’s already running the Touch Diamond 2 version of TouchFlo3D this development will make it even harder for buyers to choose between these two great devices.
