Well, since my Orbit died the death of deaths, (no, I didn't drop it. The Orbit had the cot, the baby slept on the floor!) I've been in 2 minds what to do about another one. I love the Orbit, but there seem to be an awfull lot of them dying on people. It's probably to do with taking it away from standard, that goes with the territory.
Who wants a bog standard unit when you can pretty it all up the way you want? True? I've decided to take the plunge and give the Atom Life a try. The spec is something else indeed. See below; One question though, Will I be able to flash the ROM like I used to do with my Orbit, to say, the Artemis Touch 4.01? Or maybe Tom's Black & Blue? With all this processor power it should sail through any of them. Akanaten, just wondering how you are getting on with the Atom Life?
I forgot all about this little marvel of a device, and its sooo cheap contract free as well. |

Must admit, I was taken with the Atom Life, but very disappointed when I actually bought it.
The odd squared off shape didn't help, neither did the sluggish menu and frustrating way it wouldn't let you get into the bluetooth or even internet at times. In the end I gave up and went back to my trusty XDA Orbit which still gives me no trouble and feels and looks pretty good. All in all. not impressed with the Atom at all. Some peaople willl love it, others wont. Personal choice as usual. |

Yeah, thanks for that Akanaten, quite disappointing considering the powerful processor it uses... could be the low RAM count though.

Yeh. probably a combination of quite a few things. Personaly, you would have thought being the flagship, first out of the stable Mwg they would have gone to town a little bit more than they did. Style wise I could have got used to... just. But the sluggishness and low memory will do little to adhere people to the Mwg range if first impressions are anything to go by, and in this techno must have world, that's what's going to count.
