A few photos to show the size comparison between these two phones (Source: asia.cnet.com):
![]() And the Diamond fascetted back is also history: ![]() A little longer and a little thicker than the original: ![]() Yeah!! The Diamond 2 has an SD slot for up to 16GB SDHC (but no more internal 4GB memory). And look.... you can hot-swap the SD card! No more having to power down to get at the memory card ![]() ![]() Certainly a worthy replacement for what was a ground-breaking WMphone. |

Whilst you can do that with the HD as well it's just a shame that you have to remove the back to get to it and put your grubby mitts all over the screen to take it off hoping you don't press any of the external buttons. But still better than the Orbits placement of the memory card

For hot swapping memory cards, you can't beat the Dell Axim x51v. Direct access to the SD and CF slots without having to remove anything (other than the cards).
![]() This is the view from above. The SD slot is open (the CF slot is taken up with a CF "blank"). You can also insert a CF sized MicroDrive card in the same slot. You get a bit of fluff in there from time to time. But I've had mine 3 years now and it still works as well as on day one. Made for Dell by....... HTC! |

does anyone 'hot swap' then? (serious question) I've never felt the need to

I would if the card was easier to get at. One card with films and music, one with photos and apps etc. I quite often swap the SD in my Dell (the cover I have for it has slots for two spare SD cards). Even an 8GB card is full at some point. For the Dell, I have a 32GB CF card which has currently 120MB free space!! The rest is kept on 3 4GB SDs.
So yes, for me Hot-Swapping would be a great advantage. |
