Your phone doesn't have HTC's TouchFLO3D? Or, you're bored of the weather graphics that it does have? Well, here's just the thing that you might have been looking for. Touch Weather. This has got to be one of the most appealing, eye-candy, weather apps there is for WinMo. And it comes in two flavours; Free and Pro (Pro costs £3.25 at current exchange rate). If there is one thing that we Brits like to talk about, it's got to be the weather. And with this app, you'll always be in the know as to what the weather is doing either at home or in far flung Timbuktu (or even in Grimsby, should it interest you!).
OK, as far as the weather at home is concerned, a quick glance out the window is usually enough to tell you if you need an umberella or a parasol. But what if you want to know the weather conditions later in the day, or tomorrow? Touch Weather will be able to give you the forecast for the coming week and also what the weather is likely to be morning, afternoon, evening & night of the coming week. And all in glorious rich animation. The weather conditions are animated, as they are in TouchFLO3D, but they fill the entire screen in Touch Weather. Touch the screen in order to call up the options, and from there, you can add cities, change the background, etc. Also when you touch the screen you are presented with additional details about the weather, such as chances of precipitation, sun-rise and sun-set times, moon phase and so on. Stuff you don't need to see all the time but may be of interest.
And what do you get for your hard earned money? Well, in the free version you get all the basic functions:
Animated daily weather forecast;
Amazing video effects;
Global weather;
50000+ locations worldwide;
Several weather aggregators and forecast reliability rating.
For the paid (£3.25) Pro version, you additionally get:
The only system requirements are that you are running WinMo 5 or above. I have installed it to both my Orbit with qvga display and to my Diamond 2 with wvga display and it works on both without problems. According to the Touch Weather website, it will also run on square screens too. So something for nearly everyone. Obviously, due to the higher resolution of the Diamonds screen, the graphics look fantastic. But even on an older lower resolution screen, the graphics don't look shabby.
There is a free 15 day trial of the Pro version, which if you don't buy after the 15 days, reverts to the free version without the weekly forcast and detailed daily forecast. For more information and downloads, go to http://www.touch-weather.com/
